With the admonition that Jewish youth of America must prepare itself to combat the rising tide of anti-Semitism, five hundred members of Aleph Zadek Aleph, junior order of B’nai B’rith, attending the eleventh annual convention here which ended last night, left for their respective homes today determined to give greater impetus to the movement for a more united Jewry.
The warning against the rising tide of anti-Semitism was given by Rabbi L. Israel of Baltimore, principal speaker at the closing banquet held last night.
Irving Hill of Lincoln, Neb., was elected grand president of the organization, it was announced at the banquet. Hill also was winner of the organization’s international oratorical contest, the finals of which were held here during the convention.
New members named to the junior supreme advisory council were Harold Miller of Hollywood, Calif., retiring president, and Daniel Krause, of Braddock, Pa., Nathan Cohen, of Hartford, Conn.; Harry Deutsch, of Kansas City; Leonard Winger, of McKeesport, Pa.; Harry Polim, Los Angeles; Walter Solomon, Charleston, S. C.; Leonard Handmather, Chicago; Joe Bock, Dallas, Tex., and David Sigler, Ontario, Canada, were named grand councillors.
