Rabbi Jacob Isaac Wohlgelernter, a prominent Toronto rabbi, educator and writer, died this weekend of a heart attack at the age of 65. Born in Poland, Rabbi Wohlgelernter, a sixth generation descendant of a family of Polish rabbis, emigrated to Canada in 1922. He had served as principal of Talmud Torah Eitz-Chaim in Toronto since 1941 and was the author of a number of scholarly works.
