Thousands of Hasidim, yeshiva students and rabbis from all over Israel attended the funeral today of Rabbi Yehezkeel Lewenstein who died at the age of 90. He was spiritual head of the Fonievecz Yeshiva at B’nai Brak where he taught for over 20 years. Prior to World War II, Rabbi Lewenstein was associated with the late Rabbi Kahaneman at the original Fonievecz Yeshiva in Lithuania. When the yeshiva was reestablished in Israel he helped found it.
