The Rabbinical Assembly of America, deploring the action taken by the American Jewish Committee in withdrawing from the American Jewish Conference, ended last night its affiliation with the Committee.
Describing the Committee’s withdrawal as jeopardizing “the effort of American Jewry on behalf of world Jewry,” the Assembly expressed the hope that a way would yet be found for the committee to resume its place within the framework of the conference. This, the assembly said, would again make it possible for the Assembly to collaborate with the Committee “for the furtherance of our many common purposes in Jewish life.”
