The Rabbinical Assembly, the association of Conservative rabbis, said a supplement to its High Holy Day prayer book contains a Kaddish for Israelis killed in terrorist raids at Maalot and Kiryat Shemona. Called “Yearnings.” the supplement is the second edition of a booklet first issued in 1968 as an updated adjunct to the Mazhor. It also includes readings on the plight of Soviet Jewry, Mideast peace after the Yom Kippur War and the Holocaust. Tribute is paid to those who died in the Yom Kippur War in a reading adapted from the Hebrew of Yariv Ben-Aharon of Israel, entitled “My Brothers, the Tankists.”
