The Rabbinical Council of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America and the Rabbinical Association of Yeshivah College effected a merger at a convention of both groups at the Hotel Carlton here.
Rabbis from large cities throughout the country attended the convention, which closed last night.
A praesidium was elected including Rabbis J. M. Charlop, Judah Damesek and Herbert S. Goldstein. Rabbis Bernard Drachman, Samuel Reichman and B. L. Rosenbloom were elected vice-presidents; Dr. Leo Jung, treasurer; Rabbi Alexander Rosenberg, recording secretary and Rabbi Joseph C. Lookstein, corresponding secretary.
