The Rabbinical Assembly of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America will open a three-day convention tomorrow morning (Monday) at Temple Beth-El, Rockaway Park, Long Island. Among the speakers will be Dr. Cyrus Adler, president of the Jewish Theological Seminary; Edward H. Burger, president of Temple Beth-El, and Louis J. Moss, president of the United Synagogue of America.
The synagogue and contemporary social trends will be discussed during the afternoon session at which Dr. Julius H. Greenstone will preside. Speakers will be Rabbis Benjamin Plotkin, Milton Steinberg and Max Gelb. Dr. Adler will speak at a public academic session in the evening. Other speakers will be Solomon Scheeh#er. Dr. Abraham Neumann and Rabbi Louis Fineberg.
On Tuesday morning Rabbis Basel and Herman H. Rubenovitz and Dr. Max Arzt will discuss Dr. Mordecai Kaplan’s philosophy of Judaism while Dr. Kaplan himself will speak on Judaism as a civilization. Tuesday afternoon reports on Palestine and Jewish law will be heard from Rabbi Abraham Heller, Dr. Julius Greenstone, Dr. Boaz Cohen, Dr. Louis M. Epstein and Dr. Louis Finkelstein. The parley will close Wednesday afternoon with election of officers.
