The arrest and detention in Moabit Prison of Edith Taglicht, daughter of 74-year-old Rabbi Taglicht of Vienna, was confirmed here today by the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.
Miss Taglicht, whose seizure on charges of having written anti-Nazi articles was reported Monday, has been held in Moabit Prison since October 9, it was ascertained today.
According to sources close to Miss Taglicht, she has never written anti-Nazi articles and is not interested in politics. She is a teacher in the Jewish Community’s religious school here, having resided in Germany for the past seven years.
The Austrian Legation informed the Jewish Telegraphic Agency today that it intends to secure Miss Taglicht’s release.
