Rabbis performed an exorcism at an Israeli army base. Workers at a tank factory at the Tel Hashomer base called in leading kabbalist Rabbi David Bazri on Wednesday to dispel a jinx they said caused the death of four coworkers from illness and accidents in recent months, according to military sources. Bazri, his son Yitzhak and an assistant issued 100 shofars to be blown simultaneously. “Then my father said a prayer to restore the place to its former state and for the protection of the soldiers and workers there,” Yitzhak Bazri, himself a rabbi, told the Yediot Achronot newspaper. The exorcism was confirmed by a military spokesman, who said it was not an official military event.
