The Central Conference of American Rabbis was on record today in condemnation of Father Charles E. Coughlin’s propaganda as a threat to democracy and in support of various social legislation now before Congress.
The report of the Commission on Social Justice, headed by Rabbi Barnett R. Brickner of Cleveland, was adopted Friday by some 200 rabbis attending the conference’s 50th anniversary convention at the Hotel Mayflower The report also condemned Nazism, Fascism and Communism, urged formation of an economic council with the participation of Government, industry and labor and endorsed a further $100,000 appropriation for the Senate Civil Liberties Committee, the Fish bill prohibiting military drill by private groups and the Wages and Hour Law.
