Premier Yitzhak Rabin said that the United Jewish Appeal’s Young Leadership “Koach” Mission to Israel in November, would exemplify the understanding between young generations of leadership in America and Israel, it was reported here today by the UJA. In a statement, Premier Rabin extended a personal welcome to the 1,000 people who will participate in the “Koach Mission of Strength.” the largest mission in UJA history.
“Israel has many sources of strength, but few as heartwarming as the American Jewish community,” Rabin said. “The Koach Mission is unique in its scope and those who take part will better understand what Israel is about and the part that American Jews can play in the development and growth of Israel’s people. The Koach Mission, which I hope is only the first in a continuing series, expresses in dramatic fashion the strength of the bond between us.”
The Koach Mission, from Nov. 6 – 16, is a program of the UJA’s Young Leadership Cabinet, and will be led by its incoming chairman, Alan Rudy of Houston, Texas. Recruitment activities are presently going on in communities throughout the country.
