Gen. Yitzhak Rabin, former Israeli Ambassador to the United States, said that as long as Israel continues to receive arms from the United States he is confident that war will not break out in the Middle East. Speaking at the commencement exercise of the Jewish Theological Seminary, Rabin said none of the major, powers could impose a solution in the Middle East unless all the parties involved agreed.
He reminded his listeners of the sixth anniversary of the end of the Six-Day War and noted that not even in Biblical times did Israel have such large boundaries. Rabin received an honorary Doctorate of Law from the educational institution which serves Conservative Jewry.
