Racial discrimination in Holland will be punished more severely starting June 20, as a result of an amendment to the Penal Code. The maximum fine for racial discrimination has been increased by Justice Minister Jacob De Ruiter from $500 to $5,000.
The new amendment also imposes severe punishment for discrimination in employment for racial reasons or when persons are denied access to public places, such as restaurants, because of their race.
