A total of $40,000 was contributed toward the $125,000 quota of the Bronx Division of the United Palestine Appeal at a dinner marking the opening of the campaign Thursday night. Dr. Nahum Sokolow, chairman of the World Zionist Executive, was the principal speaker. Judge William M. Lewis of Philadelphia, national chairman of the United Palestine Appeal addressed the gathering. Max J. Schuelder was toastmaster. One hundred dollars per couple was paid by the 300 guests.
