More than 1,000 members of Montreal’s Jewish community gathered here at a mass meeting last evening to protest the position of Soviet Jewry and the imminent trial of 33 Soviet Jews. “Only the wakening of world opinion can stem the dissolution of the Jewish community in Soviet Russia,”Rabbi Dr. W. Gunther Plaut of Toronto told the members of the audience.
