The Rt. Hon. J. Ramsay MacDonald, former Premier of Great Britain, accompanied by his daughter, Ishbel, will arrive in New York today on the Aquitania.
The “Jewish Daily Bulletin” learns that Mr. MacDonald decided to visit the United States at the invitation of the “Jewish Daily Forward,” leading Jewish labor paper. He will participate in the celebration of the thirtieth anniversary of the founding of the “Forward.” Morris Hillquit will preside at the celebration which will be held at the Century Theatre on April 24. Abe Cahan, editor of the “Forward” and B. C. Vladeck, manager, will address the gathering.
A dinner will be given in honor of Mr. MacDonald at the Concourse Plaza Hotel. B. C. Vladeck will preside.
While in New York, Mr. MacDonald and his daughter will be the guests of Miss Lilian D. Wald, prominent Jewish social worker, of “The House on Henry Street.”
A dinner will be given in Washington by the American Federation of Labor in honor of Mr. MacDonald.
