The 825th anniversary of the death of Rashi, famous Jewish-French biblical and Talmudical commentator, will be observed here Sunday at the synagogue of the Congregation Beth Sholom, South 5th Street and Marcy Avenue, Brooklyn. This will be the first time that an anniversary of Rashi is observed in this country.
The memorial has been arranged by the Descendants of Rashi, a group organized in New York recently to perpetuate the memory of Rashi and bring all his descendants into closer contact with the sources of Jewish learning.
