Rear Admiral Lewis L.Strauss yesterday received the Distinguished Service Medal for his services to the Navy and other government departments during the war and subsequently. Navy Secretary Dan Kimball made the presentation in the Pentagon.
Admiral Strauss was cited particularly for his meritorious service as former special assistant to the Secretary of the Navy, as a member of the Army-Navy Munitions Board and a member of the Army-Navy board on training in industrial mobilization. He also served as a member of the Atomic Energy Commission.
