Four synagogues from three different states joined here yesterday in launching the Reconstructionist Fellowship of Congregations, the first time in the 30 years that the Reconstructionist philosophy has been expounded that a move was made to form an organization based on this viewpoint.
The four congregations, and any others which join the fellowship in the future, will retain their national synagogue body affiliations. The four are Society for the Advancement of Judaism of New York, site of the conference at which the fellowship was launched; Niles Township Jewish Congregations, Skokie, Illinois; Temple Sinai, Buffalo, N.Y. , and Temple Beth El Zedek, Indianapolis. Louis Borins of Buffalo was named president of the fellowship.
