Rector Brockelman of Breslau University has yielded to the demands of the Nazis and ousted Professor Ernst Cohn from the faculty of the institution, according to a report which appears in the “Voelkischer Beobachter,” organ of the National Socialist Party.
The Nazi paper asserts that Professor Cohn delivered his last lecture yesterday.
The reported dismissal of Cohn, if authenticated, climaxes a stormy controversy of the last three months which spread beyond the confines of Breslau, drew the intervention of the Prussian Minister of Education, and focused international attention on the attempts of the Nazis to oust Jews from faculty positions in German Universities.
