The Pacific Southwest Council of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations voted at a meeting here today to “adopt” a small Reform congregation in Israel, located at Nahariyah, close to the Lebanese border.
The congregation at Nahariyah was founded two years ago by immigrants from Central Europe. It is one of several Reform groups being supported by the UAHC, according to Isadore C. Gordean, president of the Pacific Southwest Council.
