The 750th anniversary of the death of Moses Maimonides, the most outstanding Jewish philosopher of all times, will be commemorated at this summer’s annual convention of the Central Conference of American Rabbis, it was decided today at a meeting of the organization’s national executive board held in New York. The rabbinical convention will take place from June 22 to 27 at the Lake Tarleton Club, Pike, N.H.

Dr. Joseph L, Fink, Buffalo rabbi who is president of the Conference, which includes the nation’s Reform rabbis, said that several addresses and symposia would be devoted to the ideas of the medieval philosopher credited with harmonizing the teaching of the Scriptures with those of Aristotle. Dr. Fink pointed out that Maimonides, known also as Rambam, who died in Egypt in 1203, had molded Jewish thinking more than any other figure since the days of the Scriptural prophets.
