Immediately after the President’s inaugural address is broadcast, the airways will be turned over to a series of speeches by prominent refugee scientists, authors and scholars, Joseph E. Davies, chairman of the inaugural committee, said today.

The refugees, who are not yet selected, will emphasize the necessity for Western Hemisphere defense of free institutions if they are not to perish completely from the earth, Davis said, indicating that this ideal would be one of the themes of President Roosevelt’s third inaugural address.

The broadcast will be under the direction of Columnist Dorothy Thompson.
