If 10,000 to 15,000 Jews are allowed to settle on the Island of Cyprus, a British Crown Colony, it will be a boon to the present residents who will benefit by the enterprise and initiative of the new settlers. On the other hand if 50,000 Jews settle here they will endanger the existing population. This is the subject of a dispute now raging in the local Greek newspapers.
M. Triandopilidis, a well known Greek lawyer here, has written a lengthy article on the matter, and says among other things that the matter resembles the case of the very sick man on whom the doctors use medicine and injections at the same time. Caution is necessary, he warns, in executing a Jewish settlement scheme on the Island.
