The adjustment of women refugees from Central andEasternEurope to a life of pioneering in Palestine was described tonight to the seventh national convention of the Pioneer Women’s Organization at Hotel Pennsylvania by Dr. May Baer, of Palestine.
Miss Mary Anderson, director of the Women’s Bureau of the United States Department of Labor, told the 300 delegates from 170 women’s clubs throughout the United States and Canada about the efforts of her department to better the working and living conditions of women in this country and praised the Pioneer Women’s Organization for its cooperation in this “great human task.”
Other speakers were Miss Rose Schneiderman, New York State Labor Commissioner; David Pinski, dramatist; Hayim Greenberg, editor of The Jewish Frontier, and Israel Mereminski, member of the executive of the Palestine Labor Federation.
