An appeal from several hundred Polish Jewish refugees in Wilno, Lithuania, having American immigration visas, to Jewish organizations in the United States for aid in obtaining transit via Soviet Russia or for the sending of a special ship to embark them at Petsamo, Finland, was received by the Jewish Telegraphic Agency. The appeal, signed by Rabbi Chaim Oser Grodzenski, said the refugees included many wives and children wishing to join their husbands and fathers in the United States. Their situation, he said, is “extremely critical.”
