A group of Jewish refugees who were released from internment in Australia to join the Pioneer Corps have handed over their savings to the Jewish National Fund to be used for the acquisition of land in Palestine on which refugees are to be settled, it was announced here today.
A check representing the remainder of a grant made to the group by the Adelaide Hebrew Congregation was sent to the Fund on behalf of the refugees by the Rev. J. Weintrobe, Jewish Chaplain.
