Progress in the work of settling Jewish refugees stranded in European ports was reported at a meeting of the United Evacuation Committee, the agency created by the American Jewish Emergency Committee on Jewish Refugees, held here.

Leonard L. Cohen, vice-president of the Jewish Colonization Association presided.

The United Evacuation Committee was formed for the adequate solution of the problems of the emigrants held up in the ports and the Russian refugees in Western Europe. After taking note of the progress of the work for sending on the emigrants and settling the refugees and the emigrants, the Committee approved of the measures proposed by the Director of the Committee.
