Major Brunel Cohen, treasurer of the British Legion, who was scheduled to go to Berlin as a member of the good will party of British war veterans, announced today that he will not join the delegation.
In a statement to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, Major Cohen, who lost both legs in the World War, explained that he has withdrawn from the delegation for the following reasons:
(1) He believes that his visit to Germany would be against the wish of the British Jews.
(2) He feels German Jews might resent the fact that a Jew from abroad is being entertained by the Nazi government.
(3) He is afraid that the German government may interpret his visit as an indication that the British Jews are favorably inclined towards the Hitler regime.
