Regional French officials banned the distribution of a “pig soup” that was given out at a soup kitchen. Several groups, including the Jewish group CRIF, the local Muslim Council and the Green Party protested the soup distribution by a far-right political group last week, deeming it “shameful” and “discriminatory” because it had pork in it, which observant Jews and Muslims do not eat.
