The Jews of Germany have a solemn duty to emulate the Jewish history of the last fifteen centuries in Germany and to retain the glorious, historic achievement which is called German Jewry, Dr. Heinrich Stern, president of the Federation of Liberal Jews in Germany, declares today in an editorial in the Juedische Liberale Zeitung.

“It is our duty to continue the fifteen centuries of Jewish history in Germany,” he states. “This is an important for Jewish development as a whole as the establishment of new Jewish activities in Palestine. Even if the Zionists do not share our view, they should respect it.

“It is absurd for other Jews to say that Germans do not want us. It depends only on us. We want to retain the glorious historic achievement which is called German Jewry.”
