The German newspapers here published a long article today praising the heroism of John Tunes, 25-year-old Jew, who risked his life to effect a spectacular rescue of a drowning man.
This is the second time within a month that Jews in Germany have been cited for heroism. On June 5 two Jewish war veterans, on Hitler’s personal order, were awarded medals for saving the life of a high-ranking Nazi official.
