Germany today protested to the Vatican against the anti-Nazi encyclical issued three weeks ago by Pope Pius XI and read in German churches, the Havas News Agency reports.
The note, delivered in Vatican City by Dr. Diego von Bergen, Reich Ambassador to the Holy See, was entitled “Stellungnahme” (taking a position). This alone was held to indicate that it constituted a protest. Id did not, however, include denunciation of the concordat.
