The Neue Zuercher Zeitung reported from Berlin today that the German Government has abandoned for the time being deportation of Reich Jews to the Lublin “reservation” in Nazi Poland.
The decision reportedly was taken upon recommendation of Nazi Governor General Hans Frank, who warned of epidemics resulting from the extremely unsatisfactory sanitary conditions in the Lublin area. The warning followed reported arrival of more than 1,000 Jews, who had been deported last month from Stettin, in Piaska, near Lublin.
