A resolution condemning any government as barbaric and uncivilized which resorts to “such cruel and evil religious or racial persecutions” as now obtains in Mexico against the Catholics and in Germany against Jews and Catholics, was introduced yesterday in the Board of Aldermen by Alderman Joseph Reich of Brooklyn.
The resolution, which was referred to an Aldermanic committee, also memorializes the Department of State at Washington to make representatives to such foreign governments requesting that such persecution cease “as inimical” to civilized international relationships.
