That the German Government fears the next session of the League of Nations Council may take up James G.McDonald’s recommendation for collective action on behalf of Germany’s Jews is apparent in an article, obviously inspired from official sources, which appeared today in the Voelkischer Beobachter, Nazi party organ.
Under the heading, “Freemasons and Soviets Behind the Scenes at Geneva,” the article aims to prove that the former League High Commissioner for Refugees from Germany was influenced in his recommendation by Moscow and Paris.
Purporting to reveal the ” background of McDonald’s resignation,” the article actually reveals nothing except the serious concern of the German Government on possible league action, particularly since it is felt here that Russia, France and England and all countries bordering Germany are inclined to support Mr. McDonald’s recommendations.
