The German Government has agreed to allow all Jewish children and those of mixed parentage to leave Germany and the protectorates, Eric Hayman, Quaker worker, declared here today following a tour of Denmark, Holland and Sweder, where he conferred with Quaker agencies engaged in relief activities.
Discussing the work of the Friends (Quaker) Center in Berlin, Hayman declared it seemed unlikely that the Government would prohibit it since the center was recognized as one of the legitimate agencies for dealing with non-confessional Jews and “non-Aryan” Christians.
Hayman said that the Swedish Quakers had already received permission to take 100 children out of Germany. According to Hayman, the refugee problem in Holland is very grave. He said the Quakers were opening a new center in Copenhagen, Denmark, the main function of which will be refugee work.
