Representatives of relief organizations attempting to operate in Nazi-dominated Poland met at American Red Cross headquarters here today to exchange views on the difficulties they have encountered.
Norman Davis, Red Cross chairman, presided at the conference, which was also attended by Paul Baerwald and Joseph C. Hyman of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee and representatives of the Commission for Polish Relief, the American Friends’ Service Committee, the Young Men’s Christian Association and the Polish National Alliance.
There was a discussion of common difficulties in attempting to distribute milk for children and medical supplies for the sick, homeless and wounded without discrimination. Both the Quaker and Red Cross missions in Europe have discovered that the Germans will not administer relief to Polish Jews.
The conference, which was held only for an exchange of information, ended without any action being taken.
