Religious scholars in Jordan’s main Islamist party issued an edict banning any Muslim participation in an anti-terror coalition with the United States. A coalition “to launch an aggression against any Muslim country is religiously forbidden and is treason to God, his prophet and the faithful,” scholars of the Islamic Action Front said in a fatwa, or religious edict.
