The bodies of two pilots–one a Jew and the other a Protestant–who died in the service of the fledgling state of Israel in May, 1948, were flown today to Israel for reburial.
The remains of Leonard Coben, British Jew, and George Beurling, Canadian Protestant, who crashed in the Italian hills north of Rome while transporting a plane to the Jewish state to help defend it against Arab aggression were placed aboard a special Israel military plans. Civil and religious services–by a rabbi and a minister–preceded the loading of the plane. Present at the field were an honor guard of Israel air force officers and Shk## Ginossar, Israel Minister to Italy.
