A demand that Dr. Walter Becher, a member of the Munich broadcasting station’s policy committee, be removed from that committee, was made here today by the policy committee’s president. According to the accusation. Dr. Becher had written the article in a Sudeten-German periodical, demanding the elimination of Jews from German cultural life, and referring to Jewish writers as “cultural bugs.”
Dr. Becher is a member of the Bavarian legislature, where he is chairman of the right-wing “All-German Bloc. ” Recently, he helped establish in Bavaria the National Democratic Union, with the aim of “coordinating all right-wing national elements in German politics, ” He introduced a bill in the Bavarian legislature, calling for reorganization of the Munich Broadcasting Station’s policy committee along lines that would exclude the Jewish community from representation.
