The reopening of the anti-Jewish boycott agitation by the National Democratic Party on the eve of the Easter holidays, has been followed by an attack on Jewish shops in the township of Kurnik, in the province of Posen.
Two policemen, who tried to protect the Jewish shopkeepers, were attacked and injured by the mob. Police reinforcements were called out, who succeeded in suppressing the excesses and dispersed the mob. One of the hooligans sustained severe injuries in the fighting, and 22 have been arrested, including the local leader of the National Democratic Party, who is liable to be tried by court martial for inciting to a disturbance of the peace, under the emergency decrees which are now in force in Poland.
