An appeal to Dr. Nahum Goldmann, president of the World Zionist Organization, and Dr. Israel Goldstein, president of the World Confederation of General Zionists, to take the initiative to reorganize the Confederation and include in it only the General Zionist parties outside Israel, was voiced here today at a meeting of the European and North African executive of the Confederation.
The plea to Drs. Goldmann and Goldstein noted that such a reorganization is needed to avoid future internal conflicts and disputes. Such a reorganized Confederation, the executive said, Would enable the national parties to concentrate on constructive tasks in the field of education, membership and financial and political assistance to Israel.
The executive also announced plans to hold a session of representatives of European and North African General Zionist parties after consultations among the parties. The parley would determine a common policy and elect a new leadership.
