A high Soviet official has pledged to cooperate fully with American authorities in obtaining testimony from Soviet citizens regarding alleged Nazis living in the United States, Rep. Joshua Eilberg (D Pa) disclosed. “I was very surprised by those statements because for several years the State Department has been claiming it has not been able to get Russian cooperation on the very request that we have made without any advance notices to the Soviet government,” Eilberg said.
Eilberg, head of a Congressional subcommittee on emigration that just returned from Moscow, said that Mikhail Malarov, First Deputy Procurator, pledged that witnesses would be located.
