HERZL ROOM, AN EXACT REPLICA OF DR. THEODOR HERZL’S STUDY ON THE EINZIGERGASSE IN VIENNA, WAS OPENED TODAY IN THE JEWISH NATIONAL FUND HOUSE WITH MENACHEM MENDEL USSISHKIN OFFICIATING AT THE CEREMONIES.

ALL MEMBERS OF THE ZIONIST EXECUTIVE, OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEES OF ZIONIST FUND-RAISING BODIES, REPRESENTATIVES OF THE HEBREW UNIVERSITY AND OF OTHER JEWISH INSTITUTIONS PARTICIPATED IN THE CEREMONY. A PLACE OF HONOR WAS GIVEN TO DELEGATES TO THE FIRST SIX ZIONIST CONGRESSES.

THE ROOM IS BUILT WITH THE SAME PLAN, MATERIALS, STYLE, MEASUREMENTS, FURNITURE, BOOKS AND PICTURES AS THE ORIGINAL. IT WAS REPRODUCED WITH THE HELP OF OLD PHOTOGRAPHS AND WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF PROF. HERMAN STRUCK, WHO WAS A FREQUENT VISITOR AT DR. HERZL’S STUDY.
