The Manchester Guardian reports today that in the latter part of April, a Jew, S—, was cremated in Germany by order of the authorities after they had certified the cause of the death as suicide. According to the Guardian, the man had been arrested early in April and a fortnight later his body had been found near a sewage disposal plant near Berlin, horribly mutilated, with his face smashed and lips cut.
The Nazis notified the relatives of the victim and told them if the circumstances of the man’s death were divulged, they would share the same fate.
