The British Government was reported tonight to have suggested to the Jewish Agency for Palestine that it not ask new entry certificates for Jews when the immigration schedule comes up for consideration next October.
It was pointed out that the Government would consider this a goodwill gesture on the part of the Jews toward the Arabs. At the same time, it was said, such action would make it easier for the Palestine Government to end the three-month-old Arab disorders, thus making possible the sending of a Royal Commission of investigation.
It is expected here that the commission will be despatched early in September, at which time, it is believed, the situation in the Holy Land will have eased greatly.
