The New York Times said in a London dispatch today that the former Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin el Husseini, had escaped from Lebanon and had arrived in Baghdad, Iraq, on Monday. The ex-Mufti, who was held by the British Government responsible for the Palestine disorders, had fled from Jerusalem in the fall of 1937 after his followers had either been arrested or exiled. He had been living in Lebanon ever since and was reported to be directing the Arab disorders from his refuge there.
