The Daily Herald reports today from Berlin that a secret letter has been sent out by the German government to all firms in Germany earning over $7,000 yearly, “to make a voluntary monthly contribution of three per cent of their income to further German exports.”
The Nazi district leaders, according to the Daily Herald, sent a special letter to Jewish firms saying that “in view of the flourishing business which they are doing, it is expected that their contributions would be considerably higher than three per cent of income.”
