Reports of anti-Semitic attacks in Bulgaria were denied by the Jewish consistory here.
Replying to a communication of the Vienna Union of Jewish Journalists regarding reports of anti-Jewish excesses during the High Holidays, the Consistory states that several Christian boys broke windows in the synagogues during the Day of Atonement. The boys were immediately arrested and one was sentenced to a month in jail. All other reports are untrue, the Consistory declared.
